You're e-mail program will allow you to send and receive electronic mail to people all over the world. For help setting up your e-mail in Outlook Express, follow the instructions below.
  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Go to TOOLS menu at the top, and choose ACCOUNTS.
  3. A box will appear. Click the TAB at the top of the box that says MAIL.
  4. You should see a rather large white box that may or may not have an entry in it. If you are sure your mail isn't working properly, click on each entry in that box and then click remove until the box is empty.
  5. Click the button that says ADD, then choose MAIL.
  6. A step by step wizard will step you through the necessary information required to setup your email.
  7. The first thing is asks is your name, you should enter it as you would like for it to appear to other people when they receive a message from you. Most people simply put their first and last name. For a whole family that uses the same e-mail account, you may want to put something similar to.. The Smith's.
  8. It will ask for your incoming mail server, you should put pop.mycitycable.com
  9. It will ask for your outgoing mail server, you should put smtp.mycitycable.com
  10. It will ask for your e-mail address, it is made up of your username followed by @mycitycable.com For example: johndoe@mycitycable.com
  11. It will ask for your username, you should put the name in exactly as you specified when you signed up for our service.
  12. It will ask for your password, be sure to put in your password exactly as you specified when you signed up for our service and remember it is CASE SENSITIVE so only capitalize what should be in upper case.
  13. After you fill in the information on each screen, you should click the FINISH button.
  14. You are done! You can compose a new message and send it to your own address to test your account for sending and receiving if you wish. It may take a couple minutes for it to be delivered.
